Using the internet, find a definition for landscape itself and then a definition for each of the five types of landscapes: mountain, coastal, riverine, karst and arid. *You may need to search 'define mountain landscape' to find the right term. 3. Find an Australian example of each to place next to the definition in your glossary. Activity #2 Expert Groups 1. In groups, you are going to research a particular landscape and become experts on the topic. 2. Fold a piece of paper so you have four boxes. You are going to put 'Mountain' in the middle on one side and 'Coastal' in the middle on the other side. 3. The headings for each of the four boxes on both sides of the paper will be definition, characteristics (landforms), land use, examples. 4. You will be a part of two groups, one is your home group and the other is your expert group. In your expert group you will be focusing on one of the four headings and then you will go back to your home group and teach it to them. Activity #3 'Give One, Get One' 1. Fold a piece of paper so you have eight boxes. On the left side you are going to write give one at the top with the headings definition, characteristics (landforms), land use, examples in each box. On the right side will be get one with the same four headings down the boxes. 2. One side of your paper will be 'Arid' and the other will be 'Riverine'. 3. Find one thing for each of your boxes and then find a partner and give them an example to get one from them. Activity #4 Tourist Brochure 1. You are going to create a tourist brochure on the 'Karst' landscape. You are going to include within your brochure a definition, characteristics (landforms), land uses and examples. 2.
